Khao Sok/Lan

They say an elephant never forgets and you'll understand why as you ride one through the exotic and diverse rainforest of Khao Sok National Park. As part of your OMB experience, we go out as a group and ride these amazing creatures on a jungle trek for either 1 or 2 days depending on conditions. Intimidating at first, you will warm up to the elephants and we guarantee this will be one of the highlights of your trip! This is definitely a part of the trip not to be missed.

Part of the largest section of rainforest in southern Asia, Khao Sok is home to a wide range of species including rare flowers, ancient trees, barking deer and yes, even elephants. Who could forget an area like this? While mounted on one of these mammoths, explore the exciting terrain of a rainforest older than the Amazon jungle. Soon you'll know why they call this place the Guilin of Thailand, compared to the breathtaking and unique scenery of the picturesque Chinese city. Surrounding mountains, Limestone rock towers, white sandy beaches, explorable caves, and rumbling waterfalls feeding into tranquil waters are just a few of the sights to behold.

If you're a lover of the water then take out a canoe for a morning paddle along the dewy mist. If that is just too much exercise, we highly recommend you check out one of Khao Sok's infamous white sand beaches. Not only are these some of the nicest beaches around, but they are also isolated and far less populated than other destinations (It is not uncommon to have an entire beach to yourself). If the season cooperates then ensure to take advantage of white water rafting down the intertwining creeks and rivers. Or if you prefer to stick to land, try out some of the numerous hiking trails that meander across the park. Maybe you'll discover a brand new species you can name after yourself (although we would appreciate if you put Oh My Buddha somewhere in the name). Whether you're riding rushing river rapids or trekking through tropical trees atop towering tuskers, there's something in Khao Sok to keep your body (and your heart) racing.
