Oh My Buddha! Believe us, when you first arrive fresh off the plane from wherever you are coming from, those will be the first 3 words you utter (or something close to that). Bangkok is one of the most well-known, largest, most densly populated, and historically important cities in the world. From the second you step foot outside the airport, you will realize that you are definitely not in Kansas anymore (or Canada, The United States etc.). The heat, humidity, and frantic pace of the city is almost incomparable, and without question your adrenaline will be flowing! Once we get to the Khaosan Road area and pile out of our taxis or tuk tuks, your OMB and South East Asia experience really starts. Your senses will be tingling and your eyes will not believe what you see. Ladyboys, street vendors, and masses of people (both foreign and local) will be everywhere. You will be intimidated at first, but after the initial culture shock wears off, you will begin to enjoy the lifestyle of Bangkok. We only stay in Bangkok for one night after our arrival before we begin our 30 day journey to lots of other amazing locations. However, even in this one day or night (depending on what time flights arrive) and the next morning, you feel empowered and your stresses seem to float away as you finally know you are travelling! This is it, I am finally here! We return to Bangkok 1 or 2 days before you depart back to your home country as well (depending on transportation, road conditions etc.). We guarantee your perspective has been completely altered by then and you will be more willing to indulge in some of the unbelievable amenities Bangkok has to offer. Check out the floating market, take a tour of the old Grand Palace where the king used to live, or simply wander down some of the streets and get a true feel for a big city life in Thailand. Bars and nightclubs are absolutely everywhere, and entertainment venues are never more than a short walk away. Talk to tour guides Matt, Andrew, and Catlin about getting a tattoo to remember your OMB trip and South East Asia by (if you get one, so will we!). Shopping in Bangkok is some of the best in the world with separate areas of the city blocked off just for malls and stores. Whether it is brand names you are looking for, or simply a $2 Thai T-shirt, Bangkok has it all. Bangkok is truly a not-to-miss location, and you are lucky enough to get to experience the rich culture of the city on your OMB Thailand trip. Bangkok is a destination on the following OMB trips:
